Ménagé jusque là, Russell Westbrook est tranquillement revenu au jeu cette nuit face à la Nouvelle Orléans pour le deuxième match de présaison du Thunder. Pendant dix minutes, le MVP a foulé les planches de la ‘Peake, se fendant d’un dunk en pénétration et 9 points, 4 passes pour son passage éclair. Oklahoma City s’est surtout imposé grâce à 25 points de Paul George (102-91).
Anthony Davis (14 points, 7 rebonds) et DeMarcus Cousins (13 points, 4 rebonds) ont couru après le score tout le match et n’ont jamais pu rattraper leur retard. Carmelo Anthony (9 points, 6 rebonds) a pu se contenter d’un petit match avec l’apport du banc d’OKC, dont 9 points pour le rookie Terrance Ferguson intéressant sur la percussion.
Pour les Pélicans, Ian Clark termine à 11 points et Perry Jones, pour son retour à OKC, cumule 10 points et 7 rebonds. C’est la deuxième défaite de NOLA en deux matchs de présaison.
