Décédé en octobre 2015, Flip Saunders a laissé une trace indélébile à Minneapolis et amorcé la reconstruction de l’équipe actuelle. En son honneur, les Timberwolves accrocheront ce soir, lors de la rencontre face aux Lakers, une bannière au plafond du Target Center au cours d’une cérémonie hommage. Comme ils l’avaient annoncé le mois dernier.
Pour cette rencontre, les Wolves porteront également des chaussures à l’effigie de l’ancien entraîneur et président de la franchise. Ces chaussures seront ensuite vendues aux enchères afin de récolter de l’argent pour la Flip Saunders Legacy Fund.
